We've enjoyed moments of wonder and discovery this week at Kinder, spending large parts of the day outside has allowed the children to focus and settle into working with peers in small groups. These have led to some deep conversations as well as the exploration of numeracy, dramatic play and unpacking ideas.
Our three year olds really enjoyed using the trucks to dig and create 'builder' play, their collaboration and communication skills are developing each day and it is wonderful to observe.
Our four and five year olds explored patterns in nature through the use of a digital microscope. They extended their curiosity and planning skills through the box construction and created some wonderful co-operative and collaborating play- working together in the sand pit and creating a 'giant swamp!'
We hope everyone is keeping safe,
Al and Mardi.
Moore Room
We had another chilly week but the sunshine provided some great moments outdoors. There were superb cubby house builders in the blocks, miners in the pebble pit, digging for treasure in the sandpit and some awesome pirates. It has been wonderful to see the children very independent and collaborative in their play scenarios as they exchange ideas, negotiate and co-construct learning with their peers.
Indoors we have really enjoyed our music and yoga moments, caring for our pets, sequencing through threading, following instruction manuals and free design with the construction resources and some amazing penguin craft work as well as small world play manipulation. The children are curious and active participants in their learning as they express wonder and interest in their environment.
We have also enjoyed having some reading time outdoors as well as lunch which we hope to continue this week!
Have a superb week!
