Term 3
We have changed a few elements of how Specialist Days will run during Remote Learning. Specialist Teachers will host a Zoom meeting for 5/6 students on Monday and 3/4 students on Tuesday. All students are expected to attend these Zoom meetings. In these meetings we will describe our lesson and answer any immediate questions, as well as provide examples in real-time. At this stage, we are not planning any live video lessons for Junior School students beyond what is set in their Seesaw lessons.
Timetable:
9:30 - Music
9:45 - PE
11:30- Indonesian
11:45 - Art
All lessons will continue to be uploaded onto Seesaw for Junior students and Google Classroom for Senior students. We ask that 3-6 students upload their specialist work into the relevant folder on Seesaw.
Last week I was thrilled to see the efforts of both our Junior and Senior school students in PE! My senior school survey provided me with some interesting data, so thank you to those students who participated!
The senior students will this week begin their athletics focus, beginning with long jump and triple jump.
The junior students will be working on some fundamental movement skills, playing games that involve running and jumping.
Physical Education Award
Senior: Gillian B 3/4K
You were able to do a fantastic job of demonstrating our dynamic warm up exercises this week. You were very focused and controlled while doing them, particularly in your one footed and two footed calf raises. Awesome job, Gillian!
Junior: Zac H 1/2BR
Zac, you put a big smile on my face with your charming response about what choice board activity you did for your PE lesson. Then you made my day when you added an extra comment telling me how much you love PE and that you really want to push yourself and want bigger challenges! You are showing a true love of learning, great work, Zac!
The sun is out and tigers are prowling, growling and smiling at us. The sweetest tiger art was submitted by our creative Junior students. Senior students made the most of our wintry sun, catching cool shadows with their cameras. Indoors, shadow art saw torches and desk lamps cleverly positioned to created long and dramatic shadow play. It seemed fitting to create some shadow puppet play as it reflects the Wayang Kulit traditions of Indonesia and I commend students who took their shadow exploration further in this way. Menakjubkan! Keep up being creative and active, exploring new ways of learning and growing. We are all proud of you.
A special mention goes to the amazingly talented Melrain in 5/6 W, whose drawing of an eye reflected a very high level of technical skill and confident use of her medium of choice. It's a joy seeing students showcasing their artistic talent beyond set activities. Keep it up - being creative and productive is what it's all about and if students have a particular area of expertise and interest - you are encouraged to express and share.
Visual Arts Awards

Wow! Term 3 has started with a bang, a crash, detailed mind maps and some fairytale adventures. We have enjoyed reading, watching and listening to all the work that has been uploaded to Seesaw and cant wait to see what you come up with this week.
This week Foundation will be continuing their emotional exploration through more fun activities. Year 1/2 will be delving deeper into their Favourite Fairytale stories with a focus on a specific character. If you have a child in 3/4 don't be surprised if dinner time becomes a bit noisier as students learn new plate rhythms. And year 5/6's persuasive abilities(which I'm sure you have all heard on regular basis!!) will be put to the test.
Due to Specialist Zoom meetings Senior Choir will be run Monday at 12.30pm this week.

Selamat pagi dan Selamat Hari Indonesia!
I am so proud of all our students and our staff this year. Although it's not exactly what we hoped for, I feel that we rallied and created some fantastic activities across the board. I really enjoyed seeing the amazing Harimau art pieces from Junior school, the cool craft creations from Seniors and the scavenger hunt from 1/2s! Keren!
In Indonesian classes this week, I really enjoyed watching our amazing junior school play fun games, such as boi-boian, kelereng, engklek and lomba balap kelereng. Terima kasih to all family members who joined in, I hope you had fun as well!
Have a watch of our amazing staff in the video below who showed off their Indonesian skills by learning an Indonesian dance called Tari Gemu Famire as well as their speaking skills. A HUGE terima kasih to Bu Yana Gill - without whom this video would not have been possible!

Bagus sekali, Xavier! You consistently show a love of learning in Indonesian by ensuring your challenge yourself by using connectives and new vocabulary. This week, you have met Tantangan Satu (Challenge One) by describing three reasons why you like different foods. Hebat!
