All students from K-6 should be in full sports uniform on Friday.
We have had a big focus over the last 5 weeks in classrooms and in the playground around displaying kindness and respect towards others, teachers, school and uniform and ourselves. We have been working hard on encouraging the children to greet people, use their manners, speak kindly, wear their uniform with pride and keep a look out for each other in the playground. We have also introduced handball monitors at Snack Break. This term it was decided to give out special AP Awards to those students teachers thought were displaying these attributes on a consistent basis. Congratulations to: Aksel Hutchings, Elizabeth Scott, Elka Dunlop, Harrison Slee, Savannah Lea, William Sinclair, Lily Foley, Kaden Potter, Zara Butcher, Joseph Schwarze, Isabel Bryant, Den De Stafani, Yana Toledo, Sasha Bryant, Luca Johnson, Chloe Tasker, Ben Browett, Tayla Brabant, Asha Randall, Zayne Cleal, Darcy Celler, Georgia Devlin, Alix Baker, Hannah Sanderson, Aiden Ribeiro, Kaye Sarsaba, Dustin Ford, Josie Harvey, Eva Xavier, Fred O'Brien, Percy Lee and Jane Tucker.
Our recently commissioned Mini Vinnies Team have planned to celebrate the end of term with a dress up day. Our theme will be “COVID Heroes”, celebrating ALL who have played a part in our battle against COVID-19. These COVID heroes might be our wonderful medical staff, emergency services, truck drivers, government, parents (who took on managing online learning and working from home), teachers and students to name but a few. Children are encouraged to dress as one of these heroes on Thursday 2nd July. They are also asked to bring in a gold coin donation. The Mini Vinnies team will forward the money collected to “Help Ashton Kick Cancer”, supporting the Readett family.
The ‘Pizza Day’ will be on Thursday 2 July. All profits raised will go to the “Help Ashton Kick Cancer” (Ashton Readett is the little brother of Luke 3/4W, Aidan 3/4M and Liam Year 7 who is battling cancer in John Hunter Hospital). Lunch will still be at normal times. K-2 will receive their pizza at 12:10pm and 3-6 will have their pizza at 1:10pm. All orders closed today. No late orders can be taken.
Students are expected to be in full school uniform whenever they attend school. If for any reason your child is out of uniform, please send in a note.
