    Staying connected at Trinity

We know that feeling socially isolated can impact our mental wellbeing. It can make us feel sad, anxious, lonely and depressed. We want to make sure that during this time, our students have ways to stay connected to friends and the school community, even if they can’t see them in person. At Trinity there are many opportunities for our students to stay connected:

The School Leaders and SRC have continued to connect via a weekly Meet. Students have the opportunity to ask questions and make comments and suggestions such as a student newsletter, activities for Fun day Friday and Wellbeing Wednesday. Student Voice is still loud and clear during remote learning!

Every class begins their day with a Meet at 9am. It is a check in time for all students and teachers, a time to ask questions and set up the routine and learning planned for the day. Our wonderful LSO’s are also present and Mrs Smith, Mrs Marinelli and myself often pop into class Meets to say hello. Every class ends the day in the afternoon with a Meet that will focus on “What Went Well”. Students can share something positive with their class and focus on what may need to be worked on the next day. We encourage all students to join their class Meet everyday to stay connected !

Students with their class end the week with a fun Meet. Crazy hair day, PJ day, funny hats and dress ups have been popular in all classes. This will continue for all this term and teachers are open to suggestions from their students.

Our school commitment to wellbeing has been part of remote learning in all classes. This week students and teachers in all levels participated in Wellbeing Wednesday where activities for the day were directed at being fun, mindful, keeping a positive mindset and having a good time together even if remotely!  Research shows that connected students engage in their learning better and maintain their focus longer!!

Student voice has been a focus at Trinity as part of our wellbeing curriculum. Finn our School Captain suggested a student newsletter! Students can contribute to the newsletter and it would be posted on Seesaw and Google Classroom as way of connecting all students. The SRC have agreed this is a fantastic initiative and are all ready to go with the first edition of The Trinity Times! Well done Finn!
