Weekly Non-Classroom Focus

SJB Holiday Reading Challenge

All students are invited to participate in the SJB Holiday Reading Challenge. To participate, download the reading challenge sheet or ask your teacher for a copy before Friday.

All participants are required to complete 20 reading challenges during the holidays. Participants inform a parent or carer before and after completing each challenge. A parent or carer initials/signs each challenge as it is completed to maintain an honest record.

All completed challenge sheets are due back by Monday 20 July for participants to go into the draw to win a READING PRIZE PACK!

On your marks, get set.... READ!

Is your child dressed to impress?

We hope to support you as parents as you strive to meet the school expectations around uniforms. From the beginning of Term 3, parents and carers will be advised when your child is out of uniform or is not wearing the uniform responsibly.

A note will be sent home so that you have the opportunity to speak with your child, correct the uniform and return the note to the class teacher.

Many thanks for your support as we continue to maintain high expectations around the wearing of the school uniform. Please find below a sample of the note.

By the way, thank you for helping your child/ren with their school ties this week. We have seen a huge improvement and many students showing they are proud to belong to St Joseph's. Fantastico!

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Thank you to parents who participated in parent-teacher conferences the past 2 weeks.  These are an important part of the reporting to parents process and teachers loom forward to Semester two learning and teaching in partnership with parents.

Semester 2 Pupil Free Days

Monday 17 August (Term 3 Week 5)

Monday 12 October (Term 4 Week 1)

On these two days students do not attend school. Teacher will participate in professional learning on one day and the staff retreat on the other.

Are you considering a new helmet for your child?

Bicycle Helmets v Skate Helmets

Congratulations to all of our students who ride a bike to school for wearing helmets.

Parents who may be considering a new helmet in the near future may be interested in the difference between a skate helmet and a bicycle helmet. Both serve different purposes.
