Principal's Report

Principal's Report

Term 2 Week 11

In this last newsletter for Term 2 I would like to thank everyone for their efforts and support throughout this term. It certainly has been a very different way of life over the past few months. Hopefully Term 3 will see us delivering a normal program for the whole term.

Reports

This Friday the reports come out for all the children. Due to the Coronavirus and remote learning in Term 2, the reports will not have semester one achievements marked on them as they usually do, there will just be written comments on each child.

School Photos

School Photos arrived today. We will send these home tomorrow with reports.

Staffing

Hanna Kiely will be joining myself and Kate teaching in the classroom on a Monday and Wednesday as of the beginning of Term 3. Hanna will continue her teaching role in the MACC van on Thursday and Fridays.

School Review

At the start of term 3 our school will be going through the four year review process.

The review looks at our highlights in the last 4 years and if we achieved our goals from 2017 review. As part of the review we will set new goals for our future direction. For the review, we require some feedback on how parents feel the school is travelling at the moment and how it has performed over the previous four years. I will send out a small questionnaire the first day back next term on the following topics so I can gather this feedback from everyone.

High expectations of students learning- The expectations from the school that their child will learn to the best of their ability.

Student motivation and support – Providing lots of different stimulation to support the child’s learning needs. Support for their child when at school.

Stimulating learning environment – different learning environments, learning at camps, excursions, different programs at school- eg Cooking, Bluearth, variety of different learning within the classroom (use of technology), classroom environment and school environment (grounds)

Effective teaching – Are the children learning, Are teachers using instructional teaching and independent practice times in the classroom, children setting personal achievement goals and giving and receiving feedback.

Communication – Communication to home from the school

Overall satisfaction of the school

I’m looking at a scale from 1-7 and room to write if required.

Being a GEM

At the moment at school we are working with all our children towards being GEM’s.

A GEM is a person that is grateful, empathetic and mindful. At times all our children show these attributes. We just want these attributes to be on show all the time and for children to be aware of when they are displaying them.

Musical Performance

We are still aiming to hold a musical performance (play) with songs, script and a little movement early Term 4.

Friday - Last day of Term - Early Finish

Please do not forget that school finishes early tomorrow at 2:30pm. If your child is on the bus, they will run from 2:30pm.

Have a great break over the next 2 weeks, relax and catch your breath and we will see everyone back on Monday 13th July for Term 3.
