Kitchen Garden program

3/4J had their first kitchen session of the year last week. They worked together to create a delicious multi-course menu of dip, fritters, salad and flatbreads with fruit and yoghurt for dessert.

3/4PC went out to explore the garden. Students worked together to identify some of the plants that are growing and along the way they found lots of interesting bugs and insects. Cooper told us that the female praying mantis eats its partner after having babies. We also explored some of the tools we will use in the garden and how to use them safely. Finally Elia, Miia, Harrison and Elke shared the beetroot muffins they made with the whole class.

Remember we need volunteers to help with the kitchen sessions. Please sign up here https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b094baba62ea3f85-term#/

We have no helpers so far for 3/4PC on Tuesday 28th February for the cooking session. If you can come and assist (even if your child isn’t in that class) we would really appreciate it. Otherwise we will have to adjust the menu accordingly.

Allison would also love some help in the garden each Monday. Even a half hour after drop off would be helpful. It’s a great way to start the week, get your hands dirty and immerse yourself in nature!
