Science

The Foundation-2's have welcome some new classmates this week in the form of mealworms! We used microscopes to study the mealworms and suggest what stage of the life cycle they were at. We will monitor the mealworms over the next few weeks to watch how they change. Many students have predicted they will turn into moths but we will have to wait and see!

The Year 4/5/6 have enjoyed presenting and interviewing their ‘guest’ scientists this week. Children have composed some very thoughtful and challenging questions. We have heard from a toxicologist, a forester, a geologist, kinesiologiest, botanist and bacteriologist including the famous Louis Pasteur! Children also conducted an experiment on Photosynthesis and learnt that leaves produce oxygen  and we could actually observe the bubbles they produce.
