Year F/1

This week has been a very big week in the F/1 room. In maths we have continued with our work on shapes and it has been great with how engaged the students have been in their work.

The foundation students students have continued working on their sounds and it has been so awesome watching the students become more confident. They have been doing a fantastic job writing different words and having a go at writing the letters. Even when students have found it tricky they have still had a go and asked for assistance when they need it. I could not be more impressed with how the students are working.

In writing this week we have started having a look at procedural texts. On Tuesday we worked together and put the steps in the correct order for how to wash your hands. On Thursday we read Wombat Stew and students had the chance to create their own stew. It was interesting to see what ingredients they put in. They have loved writing it and I can't wait to see what they create next week.

I will be away next Monday and Tuesday completing my last two days of Sounds Write training and then on personal leave for the remainder of the week. Mrs Bell and Mrs Murray will be teaching the class in my absence.
