Art Space has been happening every Monday and Thursday lunchtime in the art room. So far this term students have used a variety of materials and equipment including, carving Soap Stone, mosaicing, modelling air dry clay creatures and painting. This space is open to anyone interested in attending.

Rostrum Public Speaking

The Australian Rostrum Voice of Youth Public Speaking Competition 2023 is commencing soon. This is a competition that allows those who love to be in front of an audience a chance to show off their skills.

Students have the opportunity to compete for cash prizes and, if successful, have the opportunity to represent our School at the State Final or even the National Final in Melbourne.

All students from Year 7 - 12 are eligible to apply to participate. Parent/Guardian permission will be required to participate in this competition.

If you are interested or would like to know more information about this opportunity, please see Mrs Bird.

Yesterday Year 11 and 12 students attended workshops delivered by Ash from Elevate Education. Elevate is Australia’s No. 1 provider of Study Skills. There were four workshops:

- Ace Your Exams: How to best prepare for your exams and how to ace your exams.

- Memory Mnemonics: Improving memory recall in exams.

- Study Sensei: Studying effectively.

- Time Management: Managing time effectively and overcoming procrastination.

Last night, there was a workshop for parents/guardians as part of the VCE: It Takes a Village Session, which was very well received.

Year 7 Launch Camp

What a great day for our Year 7 students who are on their first St Brigid's camp in Robe this week!

Umpires Clinic

On Tuesday, a group of our students participated in an AFL umpire clinic and information session. The umpires began with a presentation about their careers as umpires, sharing with students the benefits of being an umpire, their training schedules, the push for more female umpires and their journey of becoming an AFL umpire.

The umpires then taught the group how to complete a boundary throw in and a centre bounce.

Thanks to the umpires for making the trip and putting on a great session for our students!
