Why we all need to read

Library bags for Foundation to Year 2 students

Why do students need a library bag? Having a library bag helps students remember the books they take home so that they can return them the following week. It is also really important for keeping the books safe and protected from damage. The bag helps them become more responsible for their things. This is an important skill as they get older.

Research tells us the value of reading aloud with our children. The class teachers will have let you know when your child has Library lessons.  Ask your child what they have borrowed and read it with them. They love telling us about who is reading to them at home. It has a big impact.

Please feel free to pop in to the Library before or after school if you have any questions. Students can also do their borrowing then if they forgot their books on their class borrowing day.

Scholastic Book Club

You might have noticed that the Scholastic Book Club flyer looks a bit different this year. They have moved to a newspaper format. Thank you already to those parents who have found the Book Club flyer in children's bags and had a look at what is available. Here is the link to the Issue 1 Catalogue

We are part of the Scholastic Book Club program because it offers students and families a chance to buy a book for a small cost. We also get the benefit of the points allowing the Library to get more popular books for students to read. 

There is a special promotion at the moment of free books with orders over a certain amount. You can order easily via LOOP online. Please let us know if you have any problems. Scholastic Book Club Parents
