Who's Who in the Primary?

My name is Kate Harper and I began my teaching career in 2017 at Corpus Christi Primary School when I also commenced full-time study at the University of Tasmania. Since starting my new career, I have found a genuine love for working with children and helping guide them to achieve and exceed their educational goals. I have fond memories of my schooling and often remember the guidance, support and motivation I received from teachers during Primary School. I am committed to providing the same level of impact on the students of Mount Carmel. I’m committed to my new challenge and can’t wait to see what the year brings and what the students can achieve. 

A little information about me, my favourite colour is pink and my favourite movie has always been The Princess Diaries after my mum told me that Anne Hathaway reminds her of me. I have a sweet tooth, you will often find me sneaking into my lolly jar. My favourite ways to wind down are hitting the gym, playing basketball and heading down to my shack at White Beach where I love spending time with my family, friends and 6-month-old puppy Murphy. I move in to my brand-new house in a couple of weeks and am super excited about getting married early next year. 

My favourite quote that stayed with me during my studies and teaching career is

“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn.” 

This quote exemplifies the exact way I want to engage with my new Year 6 class and watch them flourish.
