All Welcome- Worship Services at St Paul

Everyone is welcome to join us on Sunday morning for worship. Worship times are 8.30am for a Traditional Service and 10.00am for a more Contemporary service with Godly Play on offer for Primary School aged children. Tea and Coffee and a time of gathering is held most weeks after both worship services.

Shrove Tuesday

Tuesday 21st February is what is known as Shrove Tuesday.  The name ‘shrove’ comes from the practice of being ‘shriven’ – going to church to confess your sins and receive forgiveness before the start of Lent, the next Season in the Church Year. It is sometimes Pancake Tuesday because households used up their remaining eggs and fats before Lent by making pancakes.  You could observe Shrove Tuesday by having pancakes for breakfast or dinner.  In preparation for Lent, you may want to think about what Jesus gave up for our sake (his life, for the forgiveness of our sins and eternal life in Heaven)  and whether you wish to give up something for Lent in spiritual preparation for Holy Week – the week before Easter.  More about Lent to come in the following weeks.

Playgroup @ St Paul

Playgroup @St Paul is on each Tuesday during term time in the Hall.  We welcome people anytime from 8.30am onwards to help set up. Join us for a coffee, playtime, story time and songs from 9-10.30am each week during school terms. Cost is $2 per family.  We offer a simple craft, a sensory activity and read a book related to a different theme each week.

This week we played with scented shaving foam for sensory play, had a marvellous and busy time at the playdough table and read what activities all sorts of animals love in the book ‘Bear Loves’

Next week we are celebrating Shrove Tuesday, more commonly known as Pancake Day. We will be playing with yellow oobleck and flipping pretend pancakes with pretend frying pans, plus reading the book ‘Pancakes and Toast, Dragons and Boats’ by Daniel Christos.

For more information about anything playgroup related contact Kylie Koelman in the Church Office on 8262 4690 or email at office@stpaul-church.org.au

Growing Faith at Home

This resource is developed by the Lutheran Church of Australia and is intended to be a guide in sharing faith activities with members of your family.

Here are a few ways you could introduce faith discussions in your home and day-to-day life.

Prayer:  Father in heaven, thank you for the gift of your beloved Son. Please open our ears to listen to him and our hearts to obey him. Amen.

Blessing: (child’s name) May the Lord Jesus bring you peace as you look to him, now and always.  Amen

Mealtime Prayer: God our provider, you are full of love and full of might. May we shine for you, with faith so bright. Amen.
