Kindergarten News 

What a brilliant start we have had in Kindergarten! Only 19 days in and we have learnt so many things! 

We have been looking at the book ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ together as a team we created the scenes out of the story. 

In Maths, we are investigating attributes and patterns. We used lots of different materials that we found in the playground to sort into attributes or make shapes with them. 

In Art, we have been looking at self-portraits. Last week we all created our very own self-portrait. They are amazing! Be sure to check them out in the windows.

Finally, this is our masterpiece that we have been busy working on this week to enter into the Armidale show!

Library/Technology News

The Library has been a hub of activity this term.  Each lunch time we have lots of student’s visiting the library to colour-in with their friends, play computer games and draw some pictures together!

Stage 3 have started their Science unit ‘Earth’s Place in Space’ by discussing early theories about Earth’s place in the solar system and the simple experiment that was used to prove that the Earth was a sphere and not flat.  Student’s have tested some of these early theories by constructing 3D models based on these theories.

All students from Stage 1 – 3 have begun designing and coding their own computer games using ‘Make Code Arcade’ the students will then design a controller for their game using the ‘Makey Makey’ kit!  This has provided the students with opportunites to work as part of a team and to really use their creative design skills in a fun practical manner.  Ask your kids about what their game design is, they love sharing!

Kindergarden enjoy borrowing their books each week and listening to a new story.  This week they were lucky enough to have some of the Stage 2 students visit to listen to them read and share a story together.
