We Love Guided Inquiry

In Terms 2, 3 and 4 Mrs Caroline Wilson from the Primary Library runs a Guided Inquiry project; each Home Room having a turn.

This term it is Yellow Room’s chance to work intensely with Mrs Wilson. The project has sprung from and extends work begun in the ELC. The children are looking at “bones”. They have researched individually, with their primary library buddies and in groups on iPads, with books and through discussion and intentional teaching. They have touched, smelt and made bones. Caroline has conducted experiments, looked at x-rays and video clips with the children.

To compliment this learning Ms Moretti, Mrs Burgess and Mrs Wilson are organising for the Yellow Room to take part in an excursion to the Museum. Thursday 16 November will be a day of fun and discovery.

“There are lots of bones in the museum”.

The children thoroughly enjoy working with Mrs Wilson and look forward to their sessions with her.

We have our nativity performance scheduled for Tuesday 28 November. Each child who attends on a Tuesday will have a part. The performance begins at 10.00am in the new James O’Doherty Performing Arts Centre. All are welcome – family and friends. We will share morning tea in the Early Learning Centre afterwards.
