Boutique  Markets

A Boutique Life Design Markets

As a new major initiative led by the Parent's and Friends at Blackfriars A Boutique Life Design Markets will be held at Blackfriars Priory School on Sunday 19 November 2017.

A Boutique Life Design Markets, are all about ‘conscious buying’: buying that supports local South Australian business, which in turn supports their families and the local community.

It is hoped that the community will support the markets and in turn be supporting Blackfriars in their fundraising endeavours.

Financially supporting the students

Money raised by the Parents and Friends over recent years is being directed back to the students at Blackfriars via a grant program open to all learning areas. The aim is to provide additional resources, which are unable to be funded through existing budgets to enable our boys to have every opportunity available to them.

During Term 3 the Parents and Friends Committee asked the different departments to submit a request for purchases to be made on behalf of the P & F. We were very pleased with the submissions we received and have been able to fulfil one of these already. The Primary Library put in a request to purchase some new tables that students were able to write on and ottomans to use instead of chairs. Thirteen ottomans and two whiteboard tables have arrived and been installed in the Primary Library. The new furniture has dramatically modernised the space and the students and staff absolutely love them.

The Music Department has also been successful in this grant program. The Parents and Friends have been happy to purchase two trombones, two tenor saxophones, two trumpets, ten music stands and one Roland Base Cube Amp. The musical instruments have already been swapped over and students are using them for their lessons.  The students and music staff are extremely thankful for these new instruments to add to their music program.
