From The Principal -

Mr Simon Cobiac

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Uniform Matters

New Sport and Co-Curricular Uniform 2018

A new Physical Education (PE) Top, Shorts and Track Pant (Primary) will be introduced from the beginning of 2018.

The sports uniform for representing the school in each sport in the Primary and Secondary School will be gradually introduced throughout 2018.

I have accepted the recommendations from the Uniform Committee based on:

  1. Harmonisation of the school colours across all sports.
  2. A new design to create a fresh, modern brand
  3. Improved quality of garment
  4. A significant reduction in price for parents.

There will be a transition period of one year where students are able to wear either the current PE and Co-Curricular uniform for each sport or the new uniform.

I expect all students to be in the new PE and Co-Curricular Uniforms for the beginning of 2019. The older uniform will be suitable for training sessions in the various sports.

There is a small quantity of the current PE and Co-Curricular Uniform that will be offered for sale by the Uniform Shop at a significant reduction (50%) on the understanding of the transition period of one year to full use of the new PE and Co-Curricular uniform at the beginning of 2019.

My appreciation to the Uniform Committee and to our Uniform Shop Manager, Mrs Cheryl Haddrill, for their work in upgrading our PE and Co-Curricular Uniforms to be modern and more cost effective for parents.

Correct Wearing of the School Uniform

Congratulations and my noted appreciation to the majority of parents who consistently support the expectations of Blackfriars Priory School for the appropriate wearing of the correct uniform by students.

I ask for your continued support to address the following matters of concern. These being:

  1. a small number of students who do not wear the correct PE sock and even some who arrive at school with no socks at all when in PE Uniform.
  2. students who wear the PE uniform to school when they should be wearing the formal school uniform.
  3. Students with non-school track pants and students not carrying the compulsory school bag.

Please ensure that your son is correctly dressed in the required uniform when they leave for school in the morning. Doing so is a great support for teaching staff and will reinforce for your son the consistency between family and school and the high expectations we hold for him in all areas of his life.
