Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Families 

I am sure that students are counting down the number of days, sleeps and hours until the holidays.  It has been a very busy term for everyone.  The Year 12 students in particular will be counting down to their exams next term, which will be the final stretch of their six-year journey. 

We have been undertaking our School Review over the past two weeks and this process has involved many members of our school community. Geri Sumpter from our School Council joined me on the panel with Carol Duggan and Bronwyn Moline (Assistant Principals), Dr Mary Cannon (Principal of Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College), Steve Cook (Principal of Albert Park College), Ruby Crofts (Year 11 College Vice-Captain) and Ailish Byrne (Year 10) . The process has focused on our achievement data over the past four years as well as hearing from students and parents who contributed feedback through focus groups to the panel. The panel has visited classroom to observe lessons in action and there have been a range of interviews with various groups of staff. We have much to celebrate at our college and this has been mentioned many times during the process.  We look forward to developing our future goals with the panel and thank all those who have contributed to this process along the way.

The Performing Arts Domain has been extremely busy of late with many events taking place over the last few weeks. The week after our school musical, Wonder in Aliceland, there was the Winter Concert, which highlighted the talents of our music students and the dedication of the instrumental music teachers. Many thanks go to Tim Veevers, Wendy Harvey, Stuart Campbell, Sue Cook, Cassandra Gibson, Alexandra Mikhailova, Peter Blick, Sarah-Louise Jacobs and David Seedsman.  I also congratulate them on their performances at Dizzy's Jazz Club on Tuesday night.

As we draw closer to the end of the term, I would like to thank Trent McIntyre (who replaced Phil Hull) and Teagan Dixon (who replaced Tess Molina) for their contribution to the college.
