10 Drama - Suitcase Series
The Malthouse Theatre is the heart of independent theatre and culture in Melbourne. Each year they invite schools across Victoria to be involved in their bold program - The Suitcase Series. The brief is simple: Group of students are to devise a 20 minute piece of theatre, based on the topic of Climate Change. They provide a script to serve as a stimulus, and the instruction: "All your props must fit into a single suitcase".
The elective class of Year 10 Drama students rose to this challenge, and for the last 5 weeks - including holiday and after school lessons - have poured their hearts and soul into some of the most original and thought provoking theatre presented on the day. Feedback from the industry professionals included remarks on the originality, cohesiveness of the group and the use of humour to highlight such a dark issue. There were 23 students up on the stage - one of the largest on the day, and each student absolutely shone.
Congratulations to all students involved - you should be very proud of the work you produced on the stage. You have once again, proved to the wider community the strength of the Performing Arts at our College.
Instrumental Music Night 2018
A night of musical talents were enjoyed for one final concert in our College library! Students in the Year 9 and 10 Class bands, along with instrumental students presented to an audience of friends and family. Many of these students presented for the first time with their instrument of choice, and should be very proud of their efforts.
Congratulations to all students involved in the evening!
