Sporting Grants 2021

$200 sporting grants, available to health care card recipients. There are lots of opportunities listed including Soccer, Netball, AFL, Guides/Scouts, basketball, boxing, karate, swimming etc. For a full list, see this URL: https://www.getactive.vic.gov.au/vouchers/activities/  

 

To be eligible for a voucher the  child/dependant must be:

  • aged 4 to 18 years
  • a resident in Victoria
  • named on a current (at the time of your application) Australian Government Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, and
  • named on a valid Australian Government Medicare card.
  • You can apply for more than one voucher if you have multiple eligible children/dependants.
  • You must apply separately for each child/dependant.

Parents/carers can be reimbursed up to $200 for costs related to:

  • membership, registration or general fees to participate at an affiliated sport or active recreation club, association or program
  • equipment required to participate in the nominated activity, including second-hand equipment
  • uniforms and clothing required to participate in the nominated activity, including second-hand uniforms

They must pay for the membership, registration fees, equipment or uniform first. They will then be reimbursed for part or all of the cost up to the value of $200.

  • The activity or program must be affiliated with a Victorian State Sporting Association or Victorian State Sport and Recreation Body that is recognised by Sport and Recreation Victoria.

  • To be reimbursed for equipment, uniform or clothing expenses:
    • the equipment (such as protective equipment, hockey stick, helmet, basketball, etc) and uniform items (including required uniform, appropriate footwear, socks, sports bra, etc) must be required for participation in the chosen sport or recreation activity
    • you must certify that the expenses relate to a current membership or registration for an activity or program provided by an affiliated sport or active recreation club, association or activity provider
