Supporting Positive Mental Health
With our focus on promoting positive mental health and wellbeing in our communities, I watched with interest, last night’s documentary on ‘The truth about improving your mental health’. If you have some time over the Easter period this could be a good watch for you to assist you to support your own and your family’s mental health. The documentary can be watched on iview. I have included the link here for your reference:

Respectful Relationships
We have been planning and implementing a number of measures at the College to support our respectful relationships education. This has of course been front and centre of our media in recent times. Further to our teaching at the College, I thought you might appreciate some of these resources which can be used as discussion points at home. Michael Grose has some really interesting things to say in this article.
With so much focus on toxic school cultures it was great to see some focus on a Brisbane school whose school captain spoke out about this culture. I have included the link here as you might like to watch this as well as have some discussion around this at home.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding respect for your child please speak to your TA and they will be able to elaborate more on the education programs we are using at the college to support respect for women.
Uniform
As we move to the cooler months we anticipate that students will commence wearing winter uniform items. Ideally we would like students to cease wearing the summer dress from ANZAC day and transition into either the winter skirt or pants.
Hats must still be worn in Term 2 until ANZAC day. This is based on the UV index. This starts to decrease below 3 more consistently at this time. Students may still wear their hats post ANZAC day as there may be days where the UV index is above 3. For this reason we ask hats to remain at school so students can wear them if necessary.
If you are purchasing school shoes over the school holidays we would ask that you keep the new Uniform Guide in mind. Please be aware that black leather sneakers will not be acceptable from Term 4 this year. If you are purchasing school shoes in the holiday break we recommend that you purchase the school shoe style which is in the new uniform guide. For information about the new uniform guide please see this link.
