Partnerships for the Future

6-8 Partnerships

Thursday 25th March witnessed the 6-8 Partnerships students visit Ky D-Pak. Ross and Nunzy provided the students with detailed insight into the history of their family orchard, the process from farm to plate, and even linked their Italian heritage/culture to the student's Italian studies and curriculum.

The students even had the opportunity to view inside the packing shed, meet some of the workers and ask a number of questions.   Students weren't left with any wonderings but were more so surprised with the costs to facilitate and manage an orchard.

A great day was had by all.

Week 9 saw the Partnerships for the Future group continue to build strong relationships amongst the school community. The 6-8 group worked with our landscapers to further develop our garden. This required the moving of fruit bins within the school and the moving of existing soil.

Meals were also cooked for members of our community who are needing help in some way. This provides a great learning opportunity for our students in understanding the value of giving and being of service to others.

Our 6-8 and 9-10 Partnerships groups also undertook P.E. together to further strengthen their teamwork and collaboration with each other. Moving out of their comfort zones and communicating effectively were key focuses.
