Sustainability

As many families will know, the ABC series War on Waste has been screening over the past few weeks.
Northcote High School has been active in promoting recycling over a number of years and would like to highlight some of the old and new recycling options at school.
For more information on the War on Waste please see the link.

Mobile Phones
The library has a Mobile Muster box where students can not only drop off mobile phones and accessories but also the following small eWaste items:
- mobile phones, cameras, iPods, iPads, mp3 players, USB’s
- Laptops, hard drives, mice
- household batteries (no car batteries)
- video & audio tapes
- CD & DVD’s (including cases)
- computer (floppy) disks
- Smoke detectors
- corks
For larger electronic items such as computers, TV’s (old and new style), stereos and white goods please contact your local Council as they all have recycling drop off centres.
New recycling options - pens and markers
Pens, pen caps, mechanical pencils, markers, marker caps, permanent markers, and permanent marker caps can all be recycled in the specially marked bin in the Library.
Paper, cardboard, cans, bottles, plastic containers
Normal co-mingled recycling (paper, cardboard, glass containers, steel & aluminium cans, and plastic containers code 1-7) is always available around the school in the recycling bins - usually the yellow and yellow lidded bins.
