French in practice

NHS students represent Venezuela at the French Model UN conference

French UN Model Conference

Fergus Boyd, Claudia Colarossi, Eva Jorden and Mollie McKenzie represented Venezuela at the French Model UN conference organised in Melbourne on the 23rd of July. The catch is that all the discussions and negotiations were conducted in French! It was an excellent opportunity for our students to put their French into practice.

The Model UN Conference is a creative simulation of the UN General Assembly in which students represent member states of the UN. In teams of 3 or 4, students try to negotiate a new UN Resolution on Asylum Seekers and Refugees. The Model UN Conference is an opportunity for students to learn about the UN system, discuss global issues and practice their diplomacy skills in a fun, dynamic environment, while developing key negotiation and public speaking skills.
