Find your treasure @ the library

Book Week
The Children’s Book Council of Australia will be celebrating Book Week from 18-24 August - this year’s theme is Find your treasure.
Recreational reading has many benefits for high school students. Regular reading has a positive impact on students’ literacy skills – important both for academic achievement and for success in their future workplaces. Reading also helps students to develop empathy – “enabling them to see the world through others’ experiences and to find answers to the issues they may face as children and young adults.” (Australian Library and Information Association)
All week in the library we will be running activities to celebrate books and reading, including:
- Find a treasure in a lucky dip of books
- Guess the Teachers’ Favourite books competition
- A Book Week Kahoot during lunchtime on Thursday 23rd
There will a treasure trove of prizes to be won!

A reminder that students can now borrow ebooks and Audiobooks via the Wheelers ePlatform.
There is a link to the ePlatform on the library website, or students can access it directly at: https://nhs.wheelers.co/account/logon, using their compass username and password.
