Principal's Report

We are incredibly excited about the announcement of significant funding in the recent State Budget. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to improve the learning environment for our students.
In conjunction with the budget announcement we had a visit from Deputy Premier and Education Minister James Merlino last Thursday. A small number of our Student Leaders (Layth, Paige, Kaley, Jade, Daphrose and Si Ngun) talked to him about our school as we conducted a tour, including our recently opened gym. He then spoke to our extended group of Student Leaders about how resilient they had been over the last few years, the exciting capital works and their future pathways. Mr Merlino was engaged with our students and knowledgeable about our school. It was a very exciting day for our whole Staughton Family.
The process from here will initially be slow as we start working through the capital works process with the Department of Education (DET) and the Victorian Schools Building Authority (VSBA).
I would like to pay particular tribute to our facilities manager Julie Toll who has ensured that DET and the VSBA understood the need for further funding on our existing masterplan to ensure top notch facilities for our students and staff.

We, at Staughton College, would like to show our respect and acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which our school is situated, of elders past and present. We extend a warm welcome to everyone who visits our school.
