Principal's News

Dear Parents and Carers,

Term 2 seems to be marching along. I cannot believe that we are at the end of Week 3.

It has been a busy time here at St Joseph's. We have had several different sporting and social events happening. Some of these are detailed below.

I would like to highlight our students' resilience over the past few weeks. We have had several students out of school for various reasons, sickness, covid and other family reasons. However, seeing their smiles as they walk back through the gates is incredible. No matter what challenges families and individuals face, it is wonderful that students want to come back to learn and have fun with their friends.

I would also like to highlight the wonderful effort that our Year 3 & Year 5 students have put into their NAPLAN assessments. This week students completed their Writing and Reading assessment. Next week, they will conclude this national testing with the Language Conventions and Numeracy assessments. I am excited for our students and look forward to seeing how they have gone.

The next fortnight promises to be a big one. There are many exciting lessons planned, and students have been practising their items for our Catholic Schools Week assembly. We hope you can all make it.

Mothers Day Breakfast, Stall & Mass

On Thursday, 5 May, we held our Mother's Day Celebrations. A big thank you to all those who attended and were able to support us throughout the day!

Also, thank you to St Joseph's P & F for organising the Mother's Day Stall and their volunteers who were able to help on the day.

Future Enrolments Parent Information Night

On Tuesday, 24 May, starting at 6:30 pm, we will be holding a Parent Information Night for future enrolments. If you have a child you are looking to enrol next year for Kindergarten and would like to attend, please complete the following Expression of Interest via bit.ly/3KqltfS.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school office via 02 6795 4038 or email weeadmin@arm.catholic.edu.au.

ADPSC Cross Country

On Friday, 6 May, nominated students travelled to Barraba to participate in the ADPSC Cross Country. The students had a great day and raced well. Well done!

A big thank you to Miss Suttor for helping to organise the team and all the parents who helped out and supported us on this day!

Catholic Schools Week

Just a reminder that on Wednesday, 25 May, families are invited to visit their child's classroom and join us for a special assembly to mark this occasion.

After the conclusion of the celebrations, families are invited to join us for a picnic morning tea, with tea and coffee provided from the Canteen. Parents are asked to pack food to share with their child/children.

We look forward to seeing you on this day!

Have a great weekend.

God Bless,
