Education Perfect Languages Championships 2022

Buongiorno & Selamat Pagi Students, Parents and Staff,

Congratulations to all the participants in the Education Perfect Languages Championships 2022!

This world-wide Languages Championships was held from the 8-15th March 2022.

In this online Languages Competition, students competed and practiced their language skills in both Indonesian and Italian, and in other languages as well, with students in Victoria, Australia and in many countries all over the world. The goal was set for students to focus on their language of study and aim to be in the top 5 in the world. Well it was great to see that the spirit of competition is still alive and well at Killester, as we produced a great result for 2022 and we achieved our goal.

Here are our achievements overall:

Our school came 5th overall in the world

3rd overall in Australia

2nd overall in Victoria

1st overall in the world for Italian

3rd overall in the world for Indonesian

1st for Italian in Australia

3rd for Indonesian in Australia

1st for Italian in Victoria

1st for Indonesian in Victoria

We had many award winners in all categories!

Killester achieved 102 Awards which consisted of the following:

31 Credit Awards (500 points)

22 Bronze Awards (1000 points)

15 Silver Awards (2000 points)

13 Gold Awards (3000 points)

8 Emerald Awards (5000 points)

13 Elite Awards (10,000 points)

Our top 3 classes in the competition were the following:

EPLC-Gallo Ranked 35th in the world with 53,331 points. This class was made up of 24 students in Years 10, 11 & 12, not studying a language but wanted to be part of the competition.
Yr 8 Indonesian Ms Cosentino 08IND01 Ranked 53rd in World with 47,374 points
Yr 9 Italian Ms Gallo 09ITA02 Ranked 59th in World with 45,075 points

In particular I would like to acknowledge our first, second and third place winners and our top students for each of our languages of study. They are the following:

Top Student Indonesian: Annie Doan Yr 9 Indonesian, as she gained the most points in her language of study.

3rd Place: Krisha Kancharla, Yr 8 Indonesian, Ranking 62nd in the world, with 13,166 points.

2nd Place: for the second year running. Kelly Lao, Yr 9 Indonesian, Ranking 51st in the world, with 14,506 points.

1st Place winner: She achieved 3rd place in 2021. Sally Tran, Yr 9 Italian, Ranking 28th in the world with 12,603 points. Sally is also our Top Student for Italian, as she gained the most points in her language of study.

Congratulations to all the students on a magnificent effort and we look forward to another successful year in next year’s Education Perfect Languages Championships 2023.
