  1. Positive Case of COVID-19  

Where a student is identified as a positive case, the following steps should be taken

  • Parents/carers must complete the Student COVID-19 COVID Test Portal or inform the school by phone or written notification.  
  • Students who report a positive result must isolate for seven days and not attend school during that period. 

Household Contacts

You are a household contact if you have spent more than four hours with someone who has COVID-19 inside a house, accommodation or care facility.

Household and household-like contacts are no longer required to quarantine providing they take the below additional safety measures in the 7 days that would have been their quarantine period 

  • Notify the school if returning during their 7 day period.
  • Undertake daily rapid antigen testing five times within the 7 days.
  • Wear a face mask when indoors (if aged 8 years and above or unless they have a valid exemption).

If a child is unwell, even with the mildest of symptoms, they must stay at home

If a child becomes unwell during the day, they must be collected from school as soon as possible.

 

If a child has any of the symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) outlined below,

however mild, they should get tested and they must remain at home until they

receive their results

 

• fever

• chills or sweats                                                       

• cough

• sore throat

• shortness of breath

• runny nose

• loss of sense of smell or taste.

In certain circumstances headache, muscle

soreness, stuffy nose, nausea, vomiting and

diarrhoea may also be considered symptoms.

A child must stay at home until they are symptom free, even if their coronavirus (COVID-19) test is negative
