EASTER EGG & BUNNY FOIL COMPETITION

Students have been hyped up on chocolate and a love of recycling over the past few months as our Easter egg & bunny foil competition took place.

Students have been eagerly awaiting the measurement results of our challenge and I am pleased to announce SD as the winners of the overall competition, only 2cm difference between 3B in second place. SD managed to create an Easter Egg foil ball 81cm in circumference! We estimate we have been able to divert 2 kilograms of aluminium foil waste from ending up in landfill. This can now be sent to a recycling facility to be turned into something useful.

Bread Bag Recycling

Our school is collecting bread bags to send off to Wonder Recycling Rewards. The more we collect the more points we earn for our school. Points = sports equipment. Bring your empty bread bags, no matter the brand to the Enviro Room.

We will be collecting from now until the end of August so we have PLENTY of time to earn plenty of points..

Oral Care Challenge

Exciting news! Our school has signed up for the Terracycle/ Colgate Community Garden challenge. This means, we need your used oral care packaging to earn us votes, the more product packages we collect the more votes we earn, the better our chances of winning a community garden!

It’s easy to get involved, simply bring ANY BRAND completed oral care products (image below) and we will collect them and send them away for recycling. Bring them to the Enviro room.

1 unit of oral care waste received for recycling = 10 Garden Points1 online vote = 1 Garden Point
