Bottle Caps and Bread Tags

Last year we started collecting bottle caps and bread tags to promote sustainability and contribute to some great charitable organisations. On Tuesday 26th May, our first collection was sent off with the Lids for Kids foundation. This included an amazing 14.3kg of breadtags and a few thousand bottle caps!

Thank-you to everyone who has contributed bread tags and bottle caps. Please continue to send into school and kinder for your children to drop off at the collection points at the school office or kindergarten foyer. Please note: all bottle caps and bread tags MUST be cleaned prior to dropping off (You can simply wash them in the sink or for large batches, a delicates bag in the washing machine works great!)

Yellow Group Yarnings

Yellow Group have been learning all about the experimental process with some rich exploration topics.

Children have worked through 5 stages in each experiment.

  1. Asking a question - Eg. Which item is heavier?
  2. Researching - Using our hands, eyes and ears to study the items and use our words to describe them
  3. Hypothesising - Placing a magnet vote to represent our hypothesis, counting the class votes and discussing what number is higher and lower
  4. Experimenting - Conducting our experiment
  5. Concluding - Discussing what was the answer and why
