Principal Report

Return to On-site Learning

Successful Start

Congratulations and thanks again to our community!

I've been saying those words quite a lot of late, but I mean it.  Once again we have pulled together to deliver an extremely successful re-engagement of learners, with their teachers.

It's so impressive, to see so many families and colleagues, stretched and challenged, but to ultimately rise above it all - and all for the sake of our most needy and vulnerable, our children!

Personally, I came down with some cold/flu symptoms over the weekend unfortunately, and was subsequently tested.  Yesterday I received a text to indicate a "negative" outcome, hence I am back on-site today, after working from home the past two days.

It was great to see the arrival process in action this morning.  Well done to all.

Can't wait to see our Year 3-6 students all return on Tuesday 9 June!

Assemblies for Term 2

Next Friday 5 June, we will hold a blended Assembly at 2:45 pm.

A WebEx link will be forwarded to homes for remote learners to join from approx 2:30 pm (for a 2:45 pm start) and classrooms can join on the one screen in their rooms.

It will be a celebration of the end to remote learning for our Yr3-6 students and to acknowledge the great work of students who have recommenced with on-site learning, including "Stars of the Week".

Assemblies will occur via WebEx each fortnight thereafter.  We still won't be able to congregate in the blue hall, so students will do all assemblies from their classroom and a WebEx link to each assembly, will be provided in the iNewsletter each fortnight so parents/carers can join in too!

National Reconciliation Week - "In this Together"

"Reconciliation is a journey for all Australians – as individuals, families, communities, organisations and importantly as a nation. At the heart of this journey are relationships between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories,  cultures, and futures."

Staff & students have been or will be addressing and acknowledging this significant event in an age-appropriate manner throughout the school week.  The title says it all, for me!

Newsletters

The newsletter itself will conclude today in its current abbreviated state.

From next week, we will recommence the original fortnightly rotation format, to include input from all relevant stakeholders across our many areas of the school.
