Year 7 News

Welcome to 2022

Welcome back to all students, staff and families to the 2022 school year! 

I am excited to have joined the Frankston High School community and look forward to getting to know all of you throughout the year.  I have previously been a Leading Teacher of Years 7 and 8 at two government secondary schools and teacher of English and Media.  In my role as a Campus Principal at Frankston High School, I will be overseeing Year 7 and transition, pedagogy, data, professional learning and other areas. 

I would like to extend a special welcome to our Year 7 students and families.  By all accounts our Year 7 students have made a positive start to the year, settling into the routines of high school and learning about all the opportunities for learning, growth and engagement within and beyond the classroom. 

At Frankston High School, our motto 'Optima Semper' reminds us that we strive for our best always.  We expect students to work hard and are committed to providing a high level of care to assist students in their learning and wellbeing.  Thank you to Mr Darin Joyce, Ms Emily Sykes, Mrs Sharee Dew, our Wellbeing and Inclusion Teams and all staff for their hard work in supporting our Year 7 students.  We encourage you to maintain open communication with the school throughout the year as we work in partnership to support your child. 

We are looking forward to our Year 7 Orientation Camps which provide a fantastic chance for students to develop positive relationships with their peers and teachers while enjoying a great program of activities.

Information regarding the COVID-Safe Plan for these events will be shared with families and acknowledgement of this plan is required for students to be able to attend. 

The annual Year 7 Meet and Greet evening will also be held later in Term 1, subject to health advice.  Further information about this event will be shared closer to the date, and we look forward to seeing many families there!
