Principals Report
- Sarah Rose (Acting Principal)
I’d like to welcome all families, students and staff to a brand-new year at Gisborne Secondary College. I’d especially like to extend a very warm welcome to all our new Year 7 parents, and other new parents to the college. We are thrilled to have everyone back onsite, and are looking forward to a year of engagement, connection, and catching up on missed opportunities. I’d like to thank all families for such a positive start to the year, and for your cooperation as we work to implement the COVIDsafe guidelines.
A very warm welcome to all our new and returning staff this year. I have no doubt that our school community will make them all feel very welcome.

Year 12 Results
I would like to extend a huge congratulations to all the graduating students of 2021.
We were delighted to have two Duxes - Emma B and Tara T, each attaining an ATAR of 98.15!
The following students also attained ATARs in the 90s - Ruby L, Lola H, Isabella E, Zoe S, Joseph D and Timothy E.
Students have gone in a range of directions. Students who have enrolled in University and TAFE courses will be nervously awaiting their first day – with our students enrolled in courses such as Biomedicine, Arts, Engineering, and Health Sciences. Others will already be off to work, with around 30 students securing full-time employment or apprenticeships.
We are so proud of each and everyone of our Class of 2021, who have achieved so much success, despite completing their education under incredibly challenging circumstances.
Tutor Learning Initiative (TLI)
The Department of Education and Training have continued to fund all Victorian Schools to operate the Tutor Learning Initiative in 2022, to provide additional support to students whose learning was impacted during remote learning in 2021. Selected students will receive additional learning support and an opportunity to catch up and improve their learning. This initiative will commence soon with parents being notified if your child has been identified for additional support.
Wishing you all a safe, healthy, and fabulous year.
