David's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been so lovely to have some time to spend with our students this week. The junior grades have shared their writing with me and each other as they went on a gallery walk and shared feedback on their writing. We love that they are so keen to get straight back into their learning and showcasing the amazing growth they have made during the past few months.

This week I have also seen a number of students, parents, teachers and aides working collaboratively with Francine in their Student Support Group meetings. The great connections that are made during these meetings allow our students who have additional needs to work towards their goals and celebrate successes. Even though the transition to a new year level or even a new school can be daunting, we know that our students will keep smashing boundaries and having cause of celebration in the future!

With the warmer sun as we move into summer, please make sure your child has a SunSmart hat - this can be either the bucket school hat from the RH Sport uniform shop, or another sun smart hat like a broad rim or legionnaire style hat. Students who do not have a hat will be expected to sit in a shaded area and will not be allowed to play in the open at recess and lunchtime. Please ensure your child's hat has their name and class clearly marked so it can be returned to them if lost.

I have to acknowledge the challenges of the past few weeks with a number of students and families in isolation. We hope that next week we will have a large number of rapid antigen testing kits on the school grounds, which will mean that students are only asked to isolate for 7 days if they are a primary close contact and have returned a negative day 6 test. I will send out more information via Xuno to the parent community early next week.
