Natasha Gippel   SPORTS COORDINATOR

Sport Term 4

We are eagerly awaiting NSW Health's recommendations on when we can return to afternoon and weekend sport for the school. Please check the newsletter each week for all the updated information regarding school sport. So far I have received information from Tamworth Touch on their plan to return.

Touch Football

Everything is subject to change in line with the Public Health Orders. Tamworth Touch are still waiting for clarification on what the COVID rules will look like when they restart and I will advise you of these as I receive the information.

The Primary competition is set to start Monday 25th October 2021 and run through to 13th December 2021.  There will be no finals series and our last day will be a Gala Day with plenty of activities and games for everyone.

The cost will be $25.00.  Any players that registered and paid $50.00 will be entitled to a refund.  We are currently working on how this will work.

Tamworth Touch and St Ed’s we will be accepting new teams and players if you are interested in playing.

St Edward's Basketball

This is the most up to date information on Basketaball taken from Tamworth Basektball's website:

NSW Health has advised the staged re-opening of the state following the Covid lockdowns will be in 3 tiers of 70%, 80% and 90% vaccination rates.

What it means for Basketball and the target dates (which are subject to change).

70% – 11th October – vaccinated persons over 16 and all persons under 16 can train in groups of up to 20.

80% – 25th October – community sport is open to those vaccinated persons over 16 and all persons under 16.

90% – 1st December – everyone can play.

At this stage we are looking at resuming the Snr & Jnr Summer Comps with normal scheduling from October 26th playing 8 rounds, finishing on the 16th December.

Refunds will be applied for the rounds missed due to The Covid Lockdown.

Note: We are unable to refund any payments made via Active Kids Vouchers.

School Representative Shirts

There are a number of school representative shirts that have not been returned. Please have a look in cupboards and sport bags and return these ASAP. These shirts are used for all St Edward’s teams when they are representing the school and need to be washed and brought back.
