2021
This year the Year 1 students have shown resilience and confidence through their proactive attitudes towards learning both remotely and onsite.
The students proudly showcased their culture on Cultural Day by dressing in clothes from their culture and sharing their cultural identity, while also building their own awareness of the multicultural world we live in.
The students were immersed in a variety of engaging and meaningful learning experiences including exploring I am a Traveller at our excursion to Jells Park and show casing our photography talents at our excursion to ArtVo.
Throughout remote learning the Year 1 students were engaged in exploring science through different experiments including making fireworks in a jar and exploring how gases are formed by mixing vinegar and bicarbonate soda.
We also explored ways to improve our procedural writing by including adjectives and adverbs through making fairy bread and ensuring that our written procedures led our readers to perfectly made fairy bread!
While on Zoom, the students chose and participated in a variety of clubs including Drawing Club, Craft Club, Riddles Club, Pokémon Club, Drama Club and Exercise Club. Similarly, the students found innovative ways to present their learning through creating videos, quizzes on Kahoot and posters.
