Senior School House Points Challenge

On Friday the senior school students took part in a choose your own challenge day! This day was a house competition where students worked together in their house groups to earn points for their house. The day involved students choosing between a different challenge activity and logging online to join in with the teachers and peers. Students were challenged by both physical and mental problems that they needed to solve to get points for their house.

It was great to see so many taking part and having a fun day together even through remote learning.

Thank you to all the students for giving their best shot at chosen activities and well done to Tolson for coming away the house winner!

Mullets for Mental Health

Meet Luke, one of our year 2 students, who is supporting the Black Dog Institute's Mullets for Mental Health Fundraiser during the month of September. He's also managed to encourage some friends to be involved and show off their mullets! 1 in 5 of us will experience symptoms of mental illness in any given year. In Australia that’s around 5 million people. And roughly 60% of these people won’t seek help.

To support Luke raise some money and awareness of for mental health visit Luke's Fundraising page at: https://www.teamblackdog.org.au/s/28701/30389/e

All the best Luke, that surely is an inspiring mullet!

Year 1 and 2

Thank you to all the 1/2 students and families for your participation in the Learning Hub activities during the recent remote learning period.  We appreciate all your hard work and resilience during this time. It has been great to see your work on the Padlet and talk to you on Google Meet. We are very happy to be back in the classroom to get a chance to work with the students before the holidays. Here are some highlights from last week that were posted on the Padlet.

Writing

In Writing last week, students created characters for a narrative with a friendship and difference theme. They drew a picture of their character and described their inside and outside traits.

Numeracy

In Numeracy, students have been learning about sharing and division. It has been great to see students finding concrete materials in their homes to help them understand and demonstrate their learning.

Foundation News

It has been great to be able to get back to school for the last week of Term 3.   The Foundation students have enjoyed being able play with their friends again and the teachers have enjoyed being able to ‘teach’ face to face again!

We have taken our time to ease back into the last week of term and have been using this time to get a few assessments done as well as reconnecting with the routine of school and our social awareness.

We look forward to starting Term 4 with hopefully no more interruptions!
