RMIT are excited to invite you to a free virtual STEM outreach session and enter a competition to win a share in $500 of JB HiFi vouchers

About this event

 

What? 45-minute session exploring the various pathways and offerings at RMIT including practical learning through the College of Vocational Education, available support for Indigenous students through the Ngarara Willim Centre and what’s involved in a degree in Higher Education. Some sessions will have a focus on engineering and our online Engenius program for 2021.

 

Who? Students in years 7-12 from all backgrounds

 

When? Various dates throughout Term 4, register your attendance today. If you’re interested in attending and none of the available times suit your needs, please email stemm.women@rmit.edu.au.

 

Where? Online, via Microsoft Teams

 

Win? Lucky door prizes at each session. Win a share in $500 worth of JB Hi-Fi vouchers by attending one of the above sessions AND sharing a short video (maximum 60 seconds) answering the question ‘What does STEM look like in your life?’ For more details, visit here.

 

Why? The sessions, facilitated by current students, will explore life as a university student, share stories of various journeys and include industry pathways. This is the chance for your students to ask their own questions through the Q&A channel with direct connection to firsthand university experience and beyond.

 

Competition details:

Participate in an online interactive webinar and submit a video for your chance to win a share in $500 worth of JB Hi-Fi vouchers.

Guidelines:

  • videos must address the question ‘What does STEM look like in your life?’
  • videos are encouraged to be filmed on mobile devices
  • videos must be no more than 60 seconds in length and uploaded to YouTube (unlisted video with the access link shared) or to Flipgrid (join code: 40ab4bac password: RMITVideo)
  • consent form will also need to be submitted

 

Arrive & Thrive are offering their first public workshop; 'Interviews for Teens - Nailing your first interview'.

 

The workshop is designed to support 15-to 19-year-olds in preparing for interviews and speaking confidently about their lived experience. We've also included a small section for students preparing for course interviews.

 

The event is online on the 14th of October at 5 pm on Zoom. Spots are limited and each participant gets access to our Online Learning Modules for Free and the 'Nailing the Interview' PDF. 

 

Tickets are $25 each and as always, we are donating 10% of sales back to social causes voted by participants.  

 

Parents and Guardians are also encouraged to join and learn how they can best support their young person through this process.

Monash University Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Science have launched a 'Chemistry Club' for the next three weeks - basically weekly workshops that focus on particular Unit 4 Chemistry topics. Students are welcome to attend one, a few or all of them - they just need to register for each event via the links below.

 

Chemistry Club - Register now The Monash Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences will be running a free, online Chemistry Club over the next four weeks on Thursdays from 4-5pm. Chemistry Club aims to refresh your knowledge and understanding of the set Unit 4 topic before your final exams.
