Principal's Report

Welcome Back!

I hope everyone has had a nice and restful break and is ready to get back into the swing of it. Term 2 is looking to be another busy term.

I would like to announce that the school is trialling having a second Deputy Principal and would like to congratulate Suzy Woods on her temporary employment as DP. There are a number of reasons why the school is trialling a second Deputy, but the main reason is that we hope this will enable the school to better assist our students and their needs.

We have started the term off with an ANZAC ceremony. Please take the time to read some of our students' work and enjoy the photos.

We have also held our fantastic Cross County. This event was a huge success with a number of records broken. I would like to thank Katie Rossington for all her organisation of the day, the PE staff for their support and all staff who assisted on the day. Without the support from all staff, this event would not be the success that it was. Please see further in our newsletter for all the details.

We have a number of students participating in the State Swimming Carnival in Sydney this week. We wish them all the best and know that you will represent not only the school, but also the region with pride.

As the weather increasingly becomes colder, school uniform is still required to be worn.

The Department of Education, P&C and  SRC support the wearing of school uniforms by students and the upholding of high standards of dress by all students. Students who continue to wear clothes not deemed suitable without reasonable explanation will be placed on a 'Loss of Privileges' list and an email sent home. Students placed on this list may have the following privileges withdrawn:

* Attending sporting excursions

* Attending school socials

* Attending non-mandatory excursions

* Viewing sporting events held at school

* Playground restrictions

Students can easily avoid losing the above privileges by wearing full school uniform daily. A copy of the uniform policy and expectations is available from our website: http://www.gleninnes-h.schools.nsw.edu.au/our-school/schol-uniform

If you require financial assistance or would like to discuss this matter further, please feel free to contact me.
