Principal's Message

Mrs Kaileen Carr

What a busy week it has been with students participating in Peachy Shield, Public Speaking and Touch Football. I would like to congratulate all the students for representing Eglinton PS with pride and good sportsmanship. This is why I love my job!

Yesterday we took delivery of the new Year 6 shirts. I would like to thank Rich Murphy for helping the students design the shirts. They look fantastic! This design will now be used every year for the Year 6 shirts. Below is a photo of some of our year 6 students proudly wearing the shirts.

Riding to school safely - I have had a few parent reports of students not riding their bikes to school safely which has caused a couple of near misses. It is really important that you speak to your child/children about riding their bike to school safely and ensure they are watching out for cars when crossing the road.

It is getting colder in the mornings. Please ensure your child/children wear jumpers to school which have their names clearly written in them. We love seeing their faces everyday and we would like to prevent as much sickness at school as we can. If your child looses a jumper or hat please check the lost property boxes located outside the Library.

Parent Numeracy Workshop and Student Disco

On Tuesday 16 May we will be holding a parent forum on Numeracy and how it is taught across our school so you as parents can support your child's numeracy learning at home. We will hold 2 sessions starting with  K-2 from 4.30pm - 5.30pm in the Stage 1 classrooms. Years 3-6 will be held from 5.30pm - 6.30pm in the Stage 2 classrooms.  While you are learning lots of great things from our teaching staff the students are welcome to attend a disco which will be supervised and run by staff. We look forward to seeing you all.

Eglinton Public School attendance as at 29th March 2023

Last Week: 92.1%

This week: 92.3%

Goal: 95%

You can check your child's attendance rate on the Sentral Parents App. Click on their photo, select 'Student Details' and click on 'Attendance'. Our expected student attendance rate is above 95%. To maintain an attendance rate of above 90% a student should have no more than 5 days off a term.

Thank you for supporting us in reaching our attendance goal. The data above shows our current student attendance for the last week. Please ensure you contact the school via the Sentral Parent Portal if your child has a day off to explain their absence.
