Next fortnight of learning:

Writing

In Writing we will be recording a fact from a non fiction text and illustrating a matching picture. Students will be encouraged to record more than one sound in a word and include finger spacing in their writing.

 

Reading

In Reading we will be reading non fiction texts and discussing their features.  We will be adding /e/, /b/ and /h/ to our bank of letters: c, t, a, i, s, m, p, o, n, f, d, g. Heart Words covered so far are: said, I, a, to, here, my, see, the and we will introduce the words ‘come’, ‘with’ and ‘for’.

Maths

In Maths we will be focusing on numbers 0-9 and exploring ten frames. Students will be ordering numbers, identifying the missing number in a sequence and identifying one more/less than a given number.

Wellbeing

In Wellbeing we will be discussing how we try to understand things from another person’s perspective. We will be revisiting The Zones Of Regulation and the colours are green, yellow, blue and red.

 

Inquiry

Students will be considering what pets would do if they were left with each other for the day. We will be viewing pictures of imaginary animals and deciding if we would like them as a pet and discussing what they would eat and where they would live.

 

Reminders

Please try to arrive to school on time. The first bell of the day goes at 8:45. This gives students the chance to enter the classroom, unpack their bags and settle at their desks or on the floor ready for learning. The second bell goes at 8:55. It is expected that all students arrive by 8:55 and are ready to learn.

 

2D Shaped Ice-creams:

The Preps enjoyed learning about 2D shapes and created 2D shaped ice cream which are proudly displayed in their classrooms. Our delicious scoops are circles, squares, pentagons, squares, ovals and hexagons, served on a crunchy triangular cone.

Mother’s Day Tea and Performances:

The children were very excited to perform a song for their mothers/carers. We would like to wish all the mothers and cares a wonderful Mother's Day this Sunday!
