Health and medical information
Health Warning issued: Poisonous mushrooms.
Victorians are being warned of the dangers of consuming wild mushrooms, as wet and cooler weather provides the ideal growing conditions for certain types of mushrooms.
Two particular wild mushroom species – Death Cap mushrooms and Yellow staining mushrooms – commonly grow in both metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria, that can cause gastrointestinal illness, liver failure, and death.

Covid-19 infections
We have been notified of a few positive cases this week. RAT kits are available from the office.
As with all illness we encourage families to keep sick children at home to minimize the spread of infection.
Any vomiting illness students are to stay away from school for a minimum of 24 hours from last vomiting episode.
Any diarrhoeal illness students are to stay away from school for 24-48 hours from last loose bowel movement.
Headlice
Multiple cases of head lice have been reported across the grades, please do your part to prevent the spread of this communicable condition by checking your child(ren) daily for the next few weeks, and on a regular basis thereafter.
If your child has head lice it is important that they are excluded from school until the day after they have started a suitable treatment, to minimise further outbreaks.
Follow the manufactures’ instructions on the use of head lice products, there are some amazing natural and medicated treatments on the market. With all treatments they need to be done on day 1 again at 7 days then again at 14 days to stop the head lice life cycle.
It is also highly recommended to treat the whole family, washing all bed linen, hats/beanies/scarves and hair brushes/combs etc. including comforters like teddies and blankets.
Thank you
Nurse Belinda

Camp Australia – Guiding Children’s Growth
We are proud to partner with Camp Australia to provide our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) program.
Camp Australia programs are centred on child enrichment, while ensuring a reliable, engaging and hassle-free OSHC service at our school. Their engaged educators foster a safe, inclusive environment where children can relax, have fun and grow.
Camp Australia recognises that children need a different experience in term time to the experience they have on their holidays. Families can choose Your OSHC for before and after school experiences during term, or Rocketeers during the holidays.
Your OSHC – OSHC that inspires
At Your OSHC by Camp Australia, every before school, after school and pupil free day program is tailored to the likes and interests of each child in service. Camp Australia’s educators design enriching experiences to inspire your children’s confidence, independence and imagination. In any one week, they could be participating in science experiments, active play, creative expression and more – they believe in learning through experience so that each child can grow.
Rocketeers – Extraordinary Holiday Adventures
Rocketeers by Camp Australia is a space for children to escape the ordinary and experience the extraordinary during their school holidays. Every school holiday break is a new mission for children to embark upon. With carefully designed programs, directed by the children and informed by family feedback, no two days are the same with Rocketeers. Experiences planned could include games, arts & crafts, sport, excursions, cooking, coding and more.
