Principal's Message to the School Community

Hello everyone and welcome to the end of Term 1.

It has arrived upon us incredibly quickly, and I wish to thank each and every one of you for your connection to our school and for the commitment and hard work you show every day in supporting your children to be ready for learning.

As Term 1 draws to an end, we reflect on how engaged our children have been with the programs and events offered. Our staff have continued to work hard this week to undertake extensive planning for Term 2.  The last day of term saw staff engaged in their second year of learning with our Visible Learning Impact Series.  The focus of the professional learning for the day was, Feedback That Makes Learning Visible. The two Learning Intentions for the day were:

We are learning to

-  Utilise feedback effectively in order to enhance learning and instruction.

-  Understand how learning intentions and success criteria are the foundation for giving effective feedback.

With research telling us that effective feedback has the potential for doubling the rate of learning we understand the crucial implications this can have on our children’s learning progressions.

This term we experienced some significant accomplishments especially with our Foundation students beginning their schooling and settling into their learning spaces with their peers and teachers, the entire student group beginning their learning with rigour and intent.

I would like to sincerely thank the parent and school elected volunteers who have once again demonstrated their willingness to donate their service as members of our School Council for another year.
