VCE Careers Expo

Year 11 and 12 had an excursion to the VCE & Careers Expo held at Caulfield racetrack on Friday 5th May.

It was a busy day full of lots of information on careers and various courses and pathways.

Hopefully the information gained will benefit all students in making choices about their pathways after they leave secondary school.

 

University Open Days

University Open Days are late July to August. A flyer will go out to all Year 11 and 12 students. It is a great opportunity to find out about new courses and pathways into various courses or to sure up your decision for further study.  Current students are on hand to talk to and there are often various information sessions held on the day.

UMAT information

UMAT registrations are open for all applicants that are required to sit the UMAT for their university course preference/s. Registrations must be made by 5pm on Friday 2nd June. The test date is on Wednesday 26th July 2017. UMAT practice test No.1 is included with the UMAT 2017 registration. Applicants will also have access to some free preparation videos once they complete their registration to sit UMAT 2017. Please see Ms McCaskie if you require further information.

 

Academy of Design: Visual Communication Design Seminar

20th May, 10:30am – 12:30pm

This event is for students studying Units 3 & 4 Visual Communication Design. Students will hear from an experienced teacher about how to prepare their folios. Registrations should be made online.

Australian Defence Force Gap Year

Applications for a 2018 gap year open in March 2017.

The ADF Gap Year program provides an opportunity for young Australians who have finished Year 12 or equivalent, aged between 17 and 24, to experience military training & lifestyle whilst gaining new skills over a paid gap year.

Work Experience

Forms have been slow to come in and if you haven’t got a placement you need to come and see me immediately.  My appointment times are on the board outside the Senior School office where I am located, or just pop in and see if I am free. Forms were due in by the end of last term.

Careers Fast Track

Year 10 will be involved in Careers sessions this term with Careers Fast Track. This involves the student producing an individualised careers booklet online and then this booklet will be printed out to be used in a careers session at school and then for individual career counselling sessions for the students.

Spark Engineering Camp
