Intermediate Softball SMR Champions
On 2nd May, the intermediate softball team competed in the SMR finals at Frankston. There were four teams in the pool including McKinnon, Mornington, Keysborough and Alkira. It was a tough day, especially with the extreme weather conditions, however we proceeded to win every game to become the CHAMPIONS! For all of us, this is our first time in four years coming out on top and winning. We can’t wait to display our blue ribbon and compete at the State Finals in three weeks.

Year 7 Softball SMR Finals
On Wednesday 3rd May, the Year 7 softball girls left school at eight in the morning to go to Frankston for regionals. We were very lucky with the weather but amazingly lucky for coming runners up out of the whole region. Ms McLean couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of our slides and catches. The first game against Banksia was 7-3 in our favour. The next game was against EMC and unfortunately we lost by one run, the score being 9-8. Next we played Alkira and beat them 15-5. Well done to everyone who played extremely well.

Year 8 Softball SMR Finals
The Year 8s set out with the Year 7s to compete in cold, sunny Frankston. The day started with a game full of rivalry against Bentleigh. Our run scorers were Mint and Coline, each scoring one run. It was a tough game and we ended up losing 7-2.
Our second game was against Keysborough, which we lost 8-11. Our run scorers were Mint, Coline, Amy-Lee, Devanshi and Jenna - after a flip over the catcher. A special mention to Lilli for catching for a whole innings after coming back from back surgery.
Our third game was against Casey in which everyone played amazingly and we won 14-1. Jay, Coline, Sasha, Mint, Amy-Lee, Emma, Georgia and Devanshi all made home runs.
And our last game was against Frankston, which we won due to time. Thanks to Sierra’s super coaching we scored 7 runs and only let them get 5. Overall, we came third and it was a great day, congratulations to Bentleigh who won. Thanks Ms McLean, Sierra and Joey for all giving us this amazing experience.

Senior Lawn Bowls
Recently, our senior lawn bowlers went to the Victorian state finals held at Darebin City Bowls Club. After a slow cold morning, and losing their first game against Balwyn, the boys picked up the game and thrashed Yarrawonga and Maribynong. Progressing through on top of section A, they played Bendigo in the Semi-final. With a close game, they unfortunately lost on the last end and went down by the narrow margin of 7-9.
With a great effort over a very long day, the boys need to be congratulated on achieving so much.
Well done Campbell, Ash and Boris.
