Italian Day

Tomorrow, Friday August 18, children are invited to come dressed as a famous Italian, in the Italian colours – green, white & red or as anything or anybody that is Italian, for the exciting Italian day Mr Martello has planned.

All children must bring a snack to school. Lunch (napoli pasta) will be provided free of charge. Please pack a lunch if your child will not eat pasta. Lunch orders will still be available if the order is placed on time.

Illness

Please ensure your child stays home if they are unwell to reduce the risk of spreading illnesses to other families and staff.

Closure Day- Next Friday

As stated in previous communications, August 25th is a school closure day. On this day, we will be hosting three other schools with a focus on Student Wellbeing.

GOSH may open for the day if there are enough families booked in. If you will be needing the service, please book through GOSH or Camp Australia by Friday 18th August.

NAPLAN Results

Students in Years 3 & 5 completed NAPLAN tests back in May and the results will be sent home in an envelope tomorrow, August 18. Please ensure that you read the accompanying letter and understand that NAPLAN is only one form of assessment. Teachers conduct assessments regularly that more accurately reflect the learning of the students. Next week in the newsletter, we will send home the collective results of students from Galilee with an analysis. We achieved results well in access of State and National averages.

Father's Day & Footy Colours Day

Galilee will be holding Footy Colours Day on Friday 1st September. Children can come to school on this day dressed in the colours of their favourite team to raise awareness of kids living with cancer. A Father's Day breakfast will be on from 7:30am with more information in the flyer below. There will also be a Father's Day Liturgy with more information in next week's newsletter.

Pastoral Care Policy

Last week we introduced our Pastoral Care Policy which will be distributed to families next week in the newsletter.
