Europe Trip 2020

Europe 2020

One of the first places we will be visiting in April next year, is the Palace of Versailles, just outside Paris.

This magnificent palace has 700 rooms, over 2,000 windows, 1,250 chimneys and 67 staircases. It began as a small hunting lodge and then grew to be the home of the French Royal family until they literally lost their heads during the French Revolution which began in 1789.

We will tour the palace and look at the stunning gardens where King Louis XVI and his wife Queen Marie Antoinette once lived.

The Palace is famous for the Hall of Mirrors where the peace treaty at the end of World War I was signed in 1919. We will get to walk through this long room (with over 350 mirrors) which was designed to impress everyone who visited it.  It is not too late to join us!
