Farewells

The College wishes to warmly farewell a number of teachers as they leave the College at the end of the school year. Some are taking an extended period of leave, whilst others are retiring or taking leave to start a family. We sincerely thank them for their years of dedicated service to the College and to the education of young women, many whose lives they have influenced in infinite ways.

Jenny Clark

Jenny Clark started teaching at MSJ in February 1975, making her the longest serving staff member of the College. As such, Jenny has seen and lived through a huge number of changes within the College especially in the area of technology. During her 43 years, she has taught a variety of subjects including shorthand, typing, keyboarding, history, geography, information technology, religion, business management and civics and has had the pleasure of teaching and inspiring over 5000 students. Jenny also had many years as a year level coordinator, mainly with the Year 9 and 10 students. Her calm, quiet, no-nonsense attitude endeared her to both students and staff. Jenny has been the stalwart of the Staff Association for numerous years, ensuring that all major staff achievements are recognised by the College community. Jenny is also a hardened, one-eyed Hawthorn supporter, who has seen 11 Premierships come her way over her time here. We thank her for all her contributions and wish her well and hope she experiences many personal premierships in the next stage of her life.

Frances Cascone

Frances first started at MSJ in 1992, initially as a Learning Support Officer and quickly became an integral part of the Education Support Staff at the College. She later moved into the Food Technology area as a Food Technology Assistant and shared with the students her love of cooking and sharing of food with family and friends. We wish Frances good health and happiness as she enters retirement and gets to spend more time with her family and beautiful grandchildren.

Helen O'Keefe

Helen began at MSJ in 2013 after teaching in a variety of different schools in many various roles over the years. All staff and students have benefited from her knowledge, stories and wisdom, particularly when it comes to teaching English and Religion. As an integral member of the Faith team, Helen’s commitment to the Josephite charism is unwavering. From delivering messages of faith on retreats to organising social justice events, Helen’s enthusiasm is an inspiration to all. In the last few years, Helen’s own hidden showbiz inclinations were channelled into producing the College Musicals, a task she undertook with great gusto, and completed to perfection. We wish Helen an abundance of happiness as she enters retirement, as she will no doubt spend her time reading, gardening and cheering on her beloved Bulldogs. (WOOF! WOOF!)

Good Luck

We would like to wish the following teachers good luck on their extended leave in 2019 and we look forward to seeing them again in 2020.
