Readarama is the reading program for Year 7 and 8 students implemented by the Library and English Department at the Cranbourne Campus. Its purpose is to foster a love of reading and to improve literacy.

'Everyone is a winner’ with Readarama and almost every student read the required minimum 25 hours between February and the end of Term 3. Many students set their own challenging goal and completed well over 25 hours, some having read over 1000 hours.  The biggest readers in each class and year level received great prizes at our College Assembly. The competitive streak in both teachers and students came to the fore as the Year 7 and 8 classes competed for the free pizza lunch for the class which read the most hours.

An important feature of the program is that students can read whatever they like: fiction, information books, magazines or newspapers in print or electronic form. As well, reading progress is encouraged when students reach various milestones throughout the year.

Congratulations to all the winners and participants, and of course, Happy Reading.
